Sleuth Fest 2007
January 1, 1970
Greetings, everyone! I recently attended Sleuth Fest 2007, the Florida Chapter's Mystery Writers of America annual conference in South Florida. As always, it was a great opportunity to meet up with old friends, get to know new and seasoned writers, and rub elbows with a few of the greats in the business.I moderated a panel with literary agents Jeff Gerecke, Donna Bagdasarian, Dianna Collier and Jessica Faust, all wonderful agents who had lots to offer the attendees. I even found a couple who expressed interest in seeing one or more of my novels, so wish me luck with my submissions.
This was my first year as a panelist. I was invited to speak on two panels: Marketing Ideas, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly with Joanne Sinchuk and Karen Corner; and also, Myth, Mysticism and Mystery with Chris Jackson, Jonathan Santlofer, and Britin Haller. Both sessions went well and were fun to do.
As always, SleuthFest was a super conference and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in mystery writing.
